ISI 2009 – 57th SESSION SPECIAL TOPIC CONTRIBUTED PAPER SESSION NOTICE As part of the hosting of the International Statistical Institute 57th Session in Durban, South Africa on 16-22 August 2009, by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), the Socio-Economic Integration Unit at Stats SA is organizing and co-ordinating a Special Topic Contributed Paper Session on the theme of Developments and Progress in Applied Statistical Modelling for the Economic Sciences Using Non-parametric Regression Methods. Organizations are invited to participate in this session with any existing or prospective work in this area. The session has strictly an applied focus, and contributions should focus on the application of non-parametric regression methods to actual or real life situations in the context of statistical modelling for economic analysis and planning. Contributions/papers may present interesting applications of existing or new methods, comparisons of different methods, or authoritative reviews. For submission, contributions should follow the standards/guidelines of the Journal of Official Statistics. Papers that do not adhere to, or deviate from, the theme of the session and the indicated character of the submissions will not be considered. This is to ensure that the contributed papers form part of a coherent session. The paper submission timeliness are:
