Reduction of Nonresponse Bias Through Regression Estimation
Jelke G. Bethlehem
Abstract:To investigate the properties of estimators of population characteristics, nonresponse is incorporated in the sampling theory by the introduction of response probabilities. Within this framework the characteristics of the Horvitz-Thompson estimator, generalized regression estimator and post-stratification estimator are studied. It is shown that proper use of auxiliary information can reduce the nonresponse bias.
Keywords:Nonresponse; regression estimator; post-stratification.
